Elections

WALT: Write an effective argument for our chosen political party.

Who are you going to vote for? Personally I think should win is labor because i think they are trying to make it better not like some other parties . Here are  three policies that I would vote for: this means that the country will be healthy means that the health industry will be payed more  

this means that people can afford to go to the doctors. the first thing i'm going to talk about is Implement a plan to reduce childhood obesity

My first policy i'm going to talk about is :

Implement a plan to reduce childhood obesity This means that the country will be healthy This is a good policy because children will be healthy Another important policy is Increase health funding by 8 billon over four years .

My second policy i'm going to talk about is :

Increase health funding by 8 billon over four years This means that the health industry will be payed more  This policy is good because doctors will be payed more This policy is also good because we will get better medicine Another important policy is reduce doctor fees by 10$ .

My third policy i'm going to talk about is:  

Reduce doctor fees by 10$ this means that people can afford to go to the doctors this is a good policy because poor people can go to the doctors at a cheaper rate This is a good policy because it’s more affordable .

Now, that I have Explained some of Greens policies, can you now see that Green is the best party to vote for. They should win because they better policies for health and education I have talk about health policies:  childhood obesity,  doctor fees and health funding. Who are you going to vote for ?

Term 2 Novel Study

Blog Title: Term 2 Novel Study

This term I have been reading and studying the novel … Castaway .

I found this novel ok  because I did not think it was that great because it was boring until the end and then it got better .

During the novel I had to complete a thinking map which shows that I can classify how the author has shown the theme of the book.

Overall I would give this novel a rating of  4 -10 ( insert your rating here) and would not  recommend it to others to read because I did not think that it was that interesting but it depends what they are into because I am not that person .

Drama

In ARTS this term we have been learning to: Make a role .

Select and use techniques and relevant technologies to develop drama practice.

• During this unit of learning we:
• Described the characteristics of silent performances.
• Identified different techniques used in silent performances.
• Used these techniques in a variety of different practice situations.
• Worked in a small group to put together our own silent performance.

The most challenging part of this unit of learning was trying to make one up because it hard to think of one .

The two things that I enjoyed the most were:

1 running around .

2 learning how to make one .

The story that my group told silently was didn't do one .

Overall I think my group worked not so well because we did not do one .

Current Events Term 2, 2017

Each week we have read a short text about a current event/ topic. We then formed questions based on what we had read.  After this we researched the answers to our questions and finally we gave our opinions on what we had found out.

Careers Education C.V. Writing

In CAREERS EDUCATION we have been learning to write a skills based Curriculum Vitae.

A skills based C.V. focuses more on the skills that we have,  rather than our work history.

Three things that I have learned about writing a Curriculum Vitae are:

1. its easier to use bullet points.

2. that you write what you do outside of work.

Reading

I can make links across texts by recognising connectives or adverbial clauses

In this unit learnt… About connective and adverbial clause .

A connective is…Something that joins sentences together and it cant make sense on it own .

An adverbial clause is… Gives good informain and it also cant make sense on its own .

I enjoyed how they made it so it's  major when it did not need to be . I enjoyed how it was so good at getting people right in to it because ones your in to it you are suck because its so good . The person who write it was Debbie Atherton . They never tried to give up so they are pretty brave to face a storm on a ship . The ship is was big lots of people but  they made it off tho . The Wahine disaster happen in 1968 it is the most dangers bout disaster it is not good to think when your on a bout .

Term 1 Novel Study

This term I have been reading and studying the novel … Book is Abandon Ship  The Writer is Debbie Atherton

I found this novel (interesting, ok etc)  because…I like this book because the way how there were so many disasters and how it was so interesting .

During the novel I had to complete two major assessment tasks. The first is an Explain Map which shows the consequences of a major event in the book. The second was a Describe++ Map (Inference map) which shows I how I have connected prior knowledge and other experiences to what I have been reading to make an inference.

Leadership Article

In writing I have been learning to use basic punctuation that is mostly correct;
- use capital letters, full stops and commas,
- use question marks and exclamation marks,
- use apostrophes,
- use speech marks

I have been especially focussing on using exclamation marks and commas. I have highlighted these in green where I have used them as well as other punctuation that I changed because it was used incorrectly. Here is a piece of my writing that shows this.

My leadership role at Oaklands School is pal . There is six traits to follow to be a good pal there are,Integrity,Trustworthy,Resilient,Goal Focused,Active Thinker,Motivational . Leadership is a skill of being able to to motivate people,teams to work towards a goal .
