Reading

I can make links across texts by recognising connectives or adverbial clauses


In this unit learnt… About connective and adverbial clause .


A connective is…Something that joins sentences together and it cant make sense on it own .


An adverbial clause is… Gives good informain and it also cant make sense on its own .

                                   Abandon Ship                               

I enjoyed how they made it so it's  major when it did not need to be . I enjoyed how it was so good at getting people right in to it because ones your in to it you are suck because its so good . The person who write it was Debbie Atherton . They never tried to give up so they are pretty brave to face a storm on a ship . The ship is was big lots of people but  they made it off tho . The Wahine disaster happen in 1968 it is the most dangers bout disaster it is not good to think when your on a bout .

Term 1 Novel Study

This term I have been reading and studying the novel … Book is Abandon Ship  The Writer is Debbie Atherton

I found this novel (interesting, ok etc)  because…I like this book because the way how there were so many disasters and how it was so interesting .

During the novel I had to complete two major assessment tasks. The first is an Explain Map which shows the consequences of a major event in the book. The second was a Describe++ Map (Inference map) which shows I how I have connected prior knowledge and other experiences to what I have been reading to make an inference.

Leadership Article

In writing I have been learning to use basic punctuation that is mostly correct;
- use capital letters, full stops and commas,
- use question marks and exclamation marks,
- use apostrophes,
- use speech marks

I have been especially focussing on using exclamation marks and commas. I have highlighted these in green where I have used them as well as other punctuation that I changed because it was used incorrectly. Here is a piece of my writing that shows this.






My leadership role at Oaklands School is pal . There is six traits to follow to be a good pal there are,Integrity,Trustworthy,Resilient,Goal Focused,Active Thinker,Motivational . Leadership is a skill of being able to to motivate people,teams to work towards a goal .
